About me

Professional:

I am designer of living things for film,animation and games.. I am a sculptor who draws and a painter who sculpts...In my opinion there is a destinction between a designer and an illustrator. Although to be a designer you have to be able to illustrate but not all illustrators are designers and some Illustrators are far better at illustrating than any designer...Illustrators can fool producers with pretty pictures but not all designers are as fortunate and thus the fighting nature of a true designer. We are not politically correct in our manner or our ideas. But we are constantly searching for innovative ideas. We live in this world and are sometimes blinded and way too far in to be accessible to corporate art houses, Fx houses and studios of all kinds...My goal as a designer/illustrator is to always bring something new to the table and as little of "something that has been done" as possible..I guarantee this effort but not the final product.. that's up to you and how much you listen to me

Personal:

Originally from the East Los Angeles area in Calif. where I was born and raised. Work has recently been taking me away from the coast and inland with my wife of 34 years and our animals.

Artistically:

I have always gravitated towards the surreal, whether I was old enough to know what that was or not. The need to be original and unique, probably stemming from my childhood, where I would spend time daydreaming, made me seek out the weirdest and wildest things that an innocent minded kid could conjure up.... By adolecense my tastes were being split in 2 with the pop culture interest I had in film and my interest in fineart through surreal imagery and artwork from the rennaisance. After gratuating from high school I took life drawing classes at the local community colledge in preperation for an extended education at a big university,which never happened. I remember being asked for a self portrait and I didn't have an interest in simply drawing my face. So I drew the way I felt. My approach to that assignment really landmarked for me a mode in how I would handle future professional projects. Representational art wasn't my goal as an artist. Abstracting with form is how I make choices with my layouts and the designs of the elements that make up the layouts themselves. Inspiration for me is internal. The work on this site is the kind of artwork I make for myself. It comes from inspiration through my faith in Jesus Christ which is internal. My artwork is the external expression of my internal inspiration. I am still evolving with my personal work, thankfully...I see changes occuring with my work which are very interesting to me and hopefully to anyone who is interested. Even though I have a professional career that is roughly 37 years old..I don't feel like I've "arrived". On the contrary I feel like a perpetual student... always learning and needing to study..

Rasca Blue

Rasca Blue , the final version of Rasca is available for order. This version is slightly different and has up to ten new pieces in it in addition to the content of the last Rasca book..

For ordering please be aware: As the book does not exist and is not in inventory in a warehouse, they will be made to order. Here's how it will work...I will take orders in two week intervals. After each two weeks I will put the order in...so this two week session starts now..here are the schedules so you will know when your book order was put in. I will leave orders open for two months on this one. There will only be 10 commissioned books allowed for now.. I am working and don't have the time right now...So if you want a comissioned book get it right away...

1st order session- Sunday July 23th and ends on Aug. 6th.

2nd order session- Aug.6th - Aug.19

3rd order session- Aug.19 - Sept. 2nd

4th order session- Sept. 2nd - Aug.15

5th order session- Aug.15 - Aug. 28th

And so on...I will update as we go till we reach the two month limit

So Rasca Blue is on hold for about another week..I just moved...in the meantime..I am putting up some drawings for sale...even though I already moved I need to get started here in the new place...so check the Originals section..could be movie stuff...I can't label it as to what it is...but someone might score on some cool stuff and also help me out to get started in the new place... thanks!!!

Taking orders for Rasca Orange

Hey everyone,

Order session started Monday eve. It goes till next friday. I am posting this everywhere I know or am linked to. The last book is done. This book is slightly different than the last version..so the people who ordered the book before last week will have a book that is unique.. and the people that order the book now will have a unique version of the book .. i am very pleased that i can offer it this way.. but for now this is it altogether. I am not planning another session thus far..So it's only available for order till next Friday...
