About me

Professional:

I am designer of living things for film,animation and games.. I am a sculptor who draws and a painter who sculpts...In my opinion there is a destinction between a designer and an illustrator. Although to be a designer you have to be able to illustrate but not all illustrators are designers and some Illustrators are far better at illustrating than any designer...Illustrators can fool producers with pretty pictures but not all designers are as fortunate and thus the fighting nature of a true designer. We are not politically correct in our manner or our ideas. But we are constantly searching for innovative ideas. We live in this world and are sometimes blinded and way too far in to be accessible to corporate art houses, Fx houses and studios of all kinds...My goal as a designer/illustrator is to always bring something new to the table and as little of "something that has been done" as possible..I guarantee this effort but not the final product.. that's up to you and how much you listen to me

Personal:

Originally from the East Los Angeles area in Calif. where I was born and raised. Work has recently been taking me away from the coast and inland with my wife of 34 years and our animals.

Artistically:  

 I have always gravitated towards the surreal, whether I was old enough to know what that was or not. The need to be original and unique, probably stemming from my childhood, where I would spend time daydreaming, made me seek out the weirdest and wildest things that an innocent minded kid could conjure up.... By adolecense my tastes were being split in 2 with the pop culture interest I had in film and my interest in fineart through surreal imagery and artwork from the rennaisance. After gratuating from high school I took life drawing classes at the local community colledge in preperation for an extended education at a big university,which never happened. I remember being asked for a self portrait and I didn't have an interest in simply drawing my face. So I drew the way I felt. My approach to that assignment really landmarked for me a mode in how I would handle future professional projects. Representational art wasn't my goal as an artist. Abstracting with form is how I make choices with my layouts and the designs of the elements that make up the layouts themselves. Inspiration for me is internal. The work on this site is the kind of artwork I make for myself. It comes from inspiration through my faith in Jesus Christ which is internal. My artwork is the external expression of my internal inspiration. I am still evolving with my personal work, thankfully...I see changes occuring with my work which are very interesting to me and hopefully to anyone who is interested. Even though I have a professional career that is roughly 37 years old..I don't feel like I've "arrived". On the contrary I feel like a perpetual student... always learning and needing to study..

Hello everyone...

I just updated the originals section.. There are a bunch of drawings available in there for purchase...There is a catagory for smaller drawings that I put one image in..I haven't set that section up yet.. I am hoping to start setting it up by end of this weekend..those will be priced between $50. and $150.00 usd plus shipping.

There is an Alien Hybrid that is priced pretty low.. I had some inquiries about that one..well it's in there now in the Aliens and Viruses folder

Update 2023

Hello everyone...

a couple quick things....I just updated several little things including parts of my Bio here..but now more directly because I never mentioned it officially here..Rasca has been taken off of Blurb.. I wasn't happy with the quality they were delivering...It may have been due to the Covid shutdowns that they didn't have the proper personnel employed so I may give them another shot now....also Blind spot is temporarily down to two books..Until I can get back to California to recover my inventory it will out of stock...

We only have one more week left for this. we are half short of just meeting the requirements for cost...We have hit 325.00 we are trying to at least get to 700.00. the raffle will go on till July 17...I have decided at this point that either way I will pick a winner for the books Rasca and Blindspot and depending on where we get to a copy of the unfinished preview version of my next book Guerra...

So Gallery Anatom is going to run a raffle...this will go live as soon as NOW.. and will run for about a month.. we'll say till July 17th. The goal is to at least cover the cost of the books which will be about $700.00. Any amount  that we go over with donations will be used in one of two ways...to help fund the mold for my latest sculpture or buy me some time to work on my book whch I need time to work on..The writing for the narrative will take some time and then the imagery which will definitely take some time..
